this is a pro-USAPL forum BUT I am going ot leave it because I think that it can be helpful in clearing up a few things.

One, the IPF isn't concerned with who posts on what forums however, they do seem to be concerned with who lifts where.

Currently, the new rules apply at the World Level in terms of lifters being subject to suspension for lifting in non-IPF World Championships and that is something that we as USAPL members need to think about in terms of who we support.

More importantly, there may be support within the IPF for that to extend to all meets - not just world championships. While that may not be enforceable for the most part within the US - in other countries it might be given that there are fewer feds.

The big question is why is this happening and is it right? More importantly, what can we do about it since we have only one vote. Is it time for coalition building and if so, with whom?

Here, I must stress, this is an IPF policy and not a USA Powerlifting policy. I do not believe that the USAPL EC, President etc support this. USAPL isn't going to go out looking for people to suspend or try to "do the legwork" for a policy that is not right and is probably not legal under US law.

Finally, I might add that I don't know what Norbert's position is on this. It's not really fair to label him as the culprit until we know who is behind this and why.

Garry alluded to something that I dismissed that maybe I shouldn't have. He suggested that the gear moritorium may have been a first step to something else. I didn't see it as such but I may agree with him on that. Again, we need to decide as a group what it is that we want and what to do about it.

I seriously doubt that he's watching me, of all people, since I don't really have a burning desire to lift in the IPF, am pretty weak and have G Buff calling my attempts. LOL
