Siders 2600-2662 / New Bar on the Way *LINK*

Date: Thursday, 6 December 2007, at 9:50 a.m.

At the American Open, Brian Siders put on a show that won't soon be forgotten. Brian completed lifts adding up to 2662 via 1003, 793, and 865. Brian ended the day with a 2601. I have watched Brian lift and have been lucky enough to be involved with his progress over the last 9 years. Over the last 3 or 4 years, Brian has lost hundreds of pounds off of his totals because of the whippy Ivanko bar. Brian missed his 1003 because of a step caused by the whip of the bar. I have seen this happen over and over with his bench. Brian pushes the weight so fast that the whip of the bar, at the top, causes Brian to actually be tipped to one side and it always seems to unlock one of his elbows after the lift is completed. This bar will be outlawed at the end of the year. Thank Goodness! It is the bar we have used predominantly in all of our USAPL Nationals over the last several years. It is the one with the screwy 3 rings on each side of the knurling and has more knurling coming in from each side than a normal power bar, which confuses a lot of people on the bench and deadlift. I am in the process of having a US made bar IPF approved. I had the bar specially made. I had it at the American Open and the response was overwhelmingly positive. It will be called the "Q" Bar. I hope to have it approved by January 1, 2008.

Brian's strength at this meet was beyond belief. I am excited to see Brian back on the lifting platform and expect big things next year. Brian wore a new style suit, for him. The TRX squat suit by Inzer. The results were astounding. A great lifter with great equipment equals world records. Thanks Inzer for your great equipment and support.
