But I am a USAPL National referee with a current USAPL card and I also put on USPF meets and have been reffing at the Mountaineer cup with Ed Coan who is banned by the IPF. Bill Ennis is also another USPF/USAPL ref that would be effected.
The rule stated below says any lifter or official who competes or PARTICIPATES in a non-IPF meet. It doesn't say whether this non-IPF meet is referring to National level meets or local level meets. Its clearly stating any non-IPF meet. So the way its worded means Bill Ennis and I could clearly be suspended for 12 months from helping at any USAPL National level meet, but not a local level USAPL meet like the NorCal. Bill is working on getting his IPF CAT 1. He is in Philadelphia this weekend reffing at the American Open. He wouldn't be able to ref at the American Open or any National meet if he refs at the USPF state meet in March. And that my friend is pure and unadulterated BS.
2) Change 14.9 Athletes Competing in Non-IPF Competition
Any lifter or official who competes or participates in a Powerlifting or Bench Press competition not organized, sanctioned or approved by the IPF shall not be permitted to take part in any IPF international or regional competition for a period of 12 months from the date of that non-approved competition.
