Drug Testing at Meets

I flew into Cincinnati Monday to work on a large construction project. The first thing I had to do was to go across the street and have a drug test done. So, I go up to the window, tell them why I'm there and they have me fill out a sheets of paper and sign two others that take me about 2 minutes, if that. I sit down when my phone immediately rings and I chat with a customer on the phone for about 10 minutes. All the while, the woman at the window keeps looking towards me and then looks back to say something to someone that I can't see. I end the conversation and within seconds, the door opens and a man calls my name. I lock up everything in my pockets in a "safe" and take the key with me into the bathroom with the cup that I need to fill. I fill the cup, come out, the dude fills the two vials with my piss and then dumps the rest in the toilet and flushes. He labels the vials and I initial. He tells me that he will analyse it right away and that my results will be done within 15 minutes. Five minutes later, the woman at the window calls my name, takes my company credit card and charges me $29.95 and gives me the results in an envelop. Done.

So, my question is, why can't we have drug testing done right at national and international meets? Why not make a deal with a testing company where they get $20-30 for each test and include that fee in the entry and then test EVERYONE? I don't know that much about drug testing but I'm sure that you can test for steroids as easily as you can test for narcotics. You could have this done at equipment check before a lifter even competes. If you want to test for substances like ephedrine or amphetamines, you can spot check 10% of lifters AFTER they compete.
