"The USPF allowed Johson and Sternberg(sp?) to compete at their Nationals and lobbied the IPF to allow them to lift at IPF Worlds. The IPF did not reverse the suspensions yet the USPF sent the two women to IPF Worlds to be part of the team."

The USPF did not put them on the team, nor did they lobby the IPF to get them on the team. Maris and Felicia actually went to the Worlds on their own (paid for my someone else whom I forget) and wore pink t-shirt that said "I should be lifting at this meet" or something to that effect.
