"It's not even athletics in Augusta... it's about membership. Augusta National has never had a woman member in its 69-year history, and didn't admit its first African American member until 1990. So what? It is a private club, and it is protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.
I think it's wrong, you think it's wrong. There is still no legal case where one can force a private organization to take you as a member. In fact it's protected from such legal action by the highest legal document in the USA."
But, the plot thickens when a private organization kicks you out due to your association with another organization. In other words, does the constitution apply to a private organization under "freedom of association"? Can the Interlachen Country Club kick me out because I'm also a member of the Wayzata Country Club? I don't know and I don't know if there is a legal precedent.
