One of the reasons why I really like Shawn's rack

It's not wobbly in the bench, very solid.
The rule only applies for world records so I can see what they are trying to do as far as consistency of equipment. I'm sure it also has something to do with that license fee thing.
In the past, we never could set world records at local or national meets, and now you can provided you have the world level accepted equipment and judging. I think it makes sense.
I personally was never in danger of settting a world record so it's acedemic to me.
