Coaching the Kevin Stewart Way!

There are a few things you will need to keep top of mind in order to coach the KEVIN STEWART powerlifting program:
Squat
Always open heavy. Seriously. Take the best squat of your life and add 10 pounds to that, that is your opener. Somehow you will get it. The jump up 100 pounds and barely miss that. Pass on your third because you tore something on the second attempt. 1 for 3 so far and a new PR. Not bad.
Bench
Remember that it is very important to train your arms. Concentration curls, one arm tricep kickbacks, and ultra high rep french presses will be the staple of your bench training routine. Never do lockout work or work the top end of your lift. Once you get into your shirt at the meet, make sure you open with a weight you can triple raw. Then move up to 600 and missgroove the weight over your face. Pass on your third to reflect on your recent near death experience. You are now 2 for 6. Congratulations, you're now in third place, rainman. That moves us onto the...
Deadlift!
Open with 660, pull conventional since you tweeked your hip/lat/knee/toenail in either a motorcycle crash, your second squat, or falling off a roof. It goes easy. Good. Now look a the next guys out there and let time expire on your second, so you can rest your old bones. Everyone thinks you are done since you are riding around the warmup room on your Rascal scooter. You surpise them though and declare a third attempt. Using your walker, you go out on the platform. You switch to sumo at the last minute as you setup, and somehow pull what you need to pull using one leg and three fingers on each hand to win the whole damn thing.
4-9, PR total, and reeking of total awesomeness. That's the Kevin Stewart way. Heal up fast K-Dog. Love to the family!
