In Response To: "News" from Frank Beeler (Frank Beeler)

My wife and I can relate to what you're going through. Lea is 35 years old and was diagnosed last 6/08 with a retroperitoneal liposarcoma, which is cancer of the fatty/connective tissues within her abdomen. Her tumor encased her right kidney and shoved many of her organs to the side.

She went through 6 months of chemo and radiation therapy, then had the volleyball-sized tumor removed, along with her right kidney, on 2/2. For the first couple of weeks after diagnosis she and I were in shock, wondering how it could happen to a then, 34 year old, elite, lifetime athlete, who eats cleaner than anyone I've ever seen.

Once she accepted that the road ahead would be tough, she dug in and decided to strengthen her faith. She began reading her Bible several hours per day (she's been on disability since 6/08 and has lots of time), devouring many Christian books on faith and healing, then began reaching out to help others.

We don't know how long she has or what lies ahead but we do know that she is prepared to face the battle, both spiritually and physically. She has no fear, but hope, and as the Bible says, "To be absent from the body is to be present with Christ."
