Hey Frank,
Glad you enjoyed it. The swords and axes were a new thing but I ran a survey online and lots of people said they liked them and they seemed to be popular.

The NorCal is my favorite, partly be cause its my baby but also because it's just a fun meet and a great way to end the year or kick off the year. We get to see new lifters and also see some old friends. Chris (the 276 lb guy) trains at Basics and has been "going to compete" for a few years but never did. He started training with us a couple months ago and finally got serious about it. He told me after the meet that he was hooked now. His kids got to see him lift and they were stoked. He had a huge grin on his face. Nothing better than that.

60 lifters was a lot though. I think next year I'll have to either convince Kenny to knock out the back wall of the gym (and he has mentioned it a couple of times) or limit the numbers so we aren't quite as packed in.

Anyway, glad you liked it and I'll see you at the next one!

Jason
