In Response To: Knee Sleeves (Michael Neal)

Michael, since the August 11th meet was advertised starting back in February as having a raw division, and the USAPL definition of raw included knee wraps, we will allow the use of knee wraps in the raw division. Too many lifters have trained with wraps over the last several weeks to change the rules of this meet now, and there is no way to contact all of them, anyway. There is no telling how many plan to enter, and do not know of the change. So, it would be unfair and unsafe to change the rules of our meet before August 11th.

Until now, the raw totals used for the Arnold have included knee wraps. Since August 11th is the last day to post a total to be considered for the Arnold, it seems reasonable to allow a total done with knee wraps for the full range of dates available to qualify, which includes August 11th.

However, if you want your total to count as a raw total toward any kind of national ranking or record in the USAPL, you would have to go with the knee sleeves at this meet. A total attained while lifting with wraps could not fairly be compared to all the other totals to be done in just knee sleeves in the future.

Looking forward to seeing you lift!
