In Response To: Was there any real competition? (Joe Smith)

Thanks for the response Joe.
Yes there was competition.
The meet was smaller than expected, because every Central American lifter had to fly to the US(probably Miami) to then take a flight to Aruba. It was nothing the meet director could control, but it cut down on how many lifers competed from other countries. Most Central American lifters just simply could not afford the trip, again this is my understanding. This made sense to me because I flew with the represenatives from Mexico and Costa Rica, who had to fly through Miami.
Also, you are darn right I was there to win a medal. An IPF/NAPF medal means a lot to me and I am thankful to have a Gold.
The gentleman from Canada set a PR. It was around 160-170 kgs. Just a little info, I had the second highest coefficient(wilkes formula) behind the IPF World Champion, Dennis Cieri.

NO, I am not a World Champion, but I did gain valuable experience and hopefully one day will earn the spot to compete at the IPF World bench Press Championships. This was a regional/continental meet and it was a great meet. If given the opportunity I WILL do it again next year in Costa Rica!
