Several items regarding your post.
I myself get tested about 6 times a year because of DOT requirements.
The test, is sometimes done at a lab as yours was. At other times it is done at a scale on the road by DOT persons---they pull you out of line.
You went into the room alone to give a sample---did you have another sample with you to dump in the cup?? Only you know since the test was not observed.
A test for drugs as your job requires in most cases is just the dipping of a test strip or two into the sample. Thats it.
Our test for one requires that it is observed---you are observed vacating into the cup, per WADA rules.
After the rest of the chain of custody protocol is completed, the sample is sent to a lab. Our test
requires some detailed testing that cannot be done as a "field test"
Sometime in the future we would all like to see a swab test (which can be done for work related drug testing as of now) but the science is not in place at this time to do that type of test for steroids.
