In Response To: running and powerlifting (Doug Heeren)

A few miles a week won't hurt. Try to include a day where you pick up the pace for a few minutes then after a couple of weeks you can do a near all out sprint for 50-100 meters. The muscle recruitment required to sprint is very much related to the muscle recruitment needed for a heavy squat or deadlift. As long as you don't run mile after mile, I don't see any problems but you may want to stop running the last week before a meet.
