In Response To: hernia surgery recovery question (Ryan)

Recovery all depends on type of hernia and repair technique. When I was doing my general surgery training in the late 90's laparoscopic was becoming the preferred approach, especially for people who never had any abdominal surgery previously. The results for laparoscopic repair of inguinal hernia are excellent using vicryl mesh implants. Be sure to discuss with your surgeon your needs and expectations for post-op activity. Best of luck!
