I respectfully disagree. The USAPL can accomplish their goals through television coverage! Paraphrasing Scarface, first you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the general public acceptance.

Remember 6 years ago when Poker was still thought of as a backroom bar game only played by middle aged men? What happened in the last 6 years? Did the game change? No, it was seen on TV. Presto.

What do you think would happen to the USAPL and/or the sport if there was 3-4 hours of powerlifting coverage on national cable networks every month?????

$ 5 dollars out of each member's $40 membership would pay for a production crew to film nationals and presto--we could have nationals on ESPN 2. And then things could snowball. Instead, powerlifting continues to remain stagnant while Scrabble, Lumberjack competitions, and the Spelling Bee get on TV.
