I guess I tend to pick on the shirts because they came to powerlifting a few years after the first suits. When I began competing in 1978, the suits were just showing up about a year later, and I wasn't sure if I liked the idea then. Next come the shirts and I was sure I didn't like the idea of additional supportive gear. I know belts and wraps add pounds to the lifts, but they also add stability and safety to the lifter. To me, suits and shirts are all about pounds and nothing else. The day after they ban shirts, the suits should be next. However, until that happens (which it won't) I'll keep clawing away at my new gear until my knuckles are raw and my eyes burst from their sockets! LOL!
