Idea for rule change......

JUst want to know how people feel about this.

At local/State level meets, it would be very helpful to have lifting start 1 hour after weigh ins end.

What I've noticed over the years is that we wind up having weigh ins end at say, 8:30 and lifting scheduled to start at 9:00.

The problem with that is that we have a rules briefing at 8:30 and at the local/State level that usually takes about 15-20 minutes. New lifters have questions and with all the rule over the years changes veteran lifters often do too.

Even with 3 warmup areas it's impossible for people to warmup for their squats (or even benches in one lift meets) in the 10-15 remaining minutes.

On top of that, as the weigh ins end we are entering opening attempts in the computer, changing weight classes for those that don't make weight, posting lifting order and finalizing the set up.

Most meet directors I've talked to realize this is a problem and adjust the warmup time accordingly which is good but also forces you to start "late".

Why not make it right?
