There has never been any problem with this from the IPF point of view. At a National level (or higher) meet there is very little extra paper work to be done. At a local level you have to provide things like scale certification, etc.

A lot of the older USPF records were set at their National meets. Shane Hamman still holds the SHW squat record from a USPF National meet in 1996 I believe.
