I think the solution that you propose is the best, particularly after having the bar land on my throat at my last meet. However, I think it's unlikely that Inzer, Titan and the other shirt makers are going to stand by and let the IPF go back to the equivalent of the old gear without a substantial fight. And, as long as the shirts are legal, lifters will wear them regardless of the risks.
